Thanks for reading! Yes, I agree – there is a long way to go in measuring real ‘influence’ of people online. My score has yo-yo’d all over the place as Klout changes its algorithm’s. Most annoying, and really not a true representation of me or my influence. I have friends who’s Klout scores are high, but are not at all engaging online. Like you said, its a small step but at least its a step

Congrats on your score! I’ve read on a lot of places though that Klout’s score doesn’t really shows how well your doing at getting other people to read/share what you also find interesting, or creating a strong social network. It seems to be a small step towards creating a statistic for this, but its still not an accurate representation (or maybe the writers are just jealous).

The creation of content no matter the intent behind should be ok. So long as they aren’t running a big promotion about themselves on it. Plus they could have an audience that reads their blog regularly and are perhaps interested in a local opinion. Either way, if they don’t do it normally, its something to try out and see how your audience responds and how website traffic responds. Being sincere while gaining awareness for one’s business strikes me as a win/win. Saw this via StumbleUpon
